The World’s Best Bike Movies are coming to Portland for the 15th Annual Filmed by Bike, a film festival May 5-7 at the Hollywood Theatre. The festival will host a diverse array of movies, a lively street party, filmmaker Q+As, a Festival Lounge with craft beer and fine coffee, and a brewery tour with the filmmakers.
80 short films will show for three days, with six unique programs. The work of 74 filmmakers representing 19 countries will be showcased, including Slovenia, India, Russia, Switzerland, and Slovakia.
The opening night features a Street Party from 5:00-9:30 p.m. The free event is all ages and features a beer garden, live entertainment, a photo booth and a gigantic bike parking arena. The Street Party takes place behind Velo Cult Bike Shop and Tavern, 1969 NE 42nd Avenue.
Filmed by Bike benefits NW Documentary, a non-profit organization that helps people tell their stories through film.
Tickets and a schedule can be found at FilmedByBike.org. Purchasing advance tickets is recommended. A festival pass for only $60 grants unlimited entry to the festival, a bike ride with the filmmakers, a factory tour of Chris King Precision Components and more.

OPENING NIGHT STREET PARTY
On Friday, May 5, from 5:00-9:30pm, the Opening Night Street Party kicks off the festival with a party behind Velo Cult Bike Shop and Tavern, 1969 NE 42nd Avenue in Portland. The event is all ages and features live entertainment on the Amtrak Main Stage, beer garden, a Pass Photo Booth and much more.
“Filmed by Bike is the only festival in Oregon to truly put the FEST in festival,” says filmmaker Mike Vogel of Front Ave. Films.

Cost: $11 per show, $55 for an unlimited entry Festival Pass that includes exclusive features and a bike ride with the filmmakers.
