In celebration of our upcoming 10th Anniversary, Filmed by Bike is hosting a bike movie lounge at BikeCraft. A rotating selection of not-much-attention-required movies will play throughout the day, and of course there will be popcorn from Pedal Kettle.

Filmed by Bike DVD sets will be on sale at special deeply discounted prices to get you inspired to, perhaps, make your own bike movie. Spread the bike movie love and buy DVDs for all your friends this holiday season.

40 bike movies showing at the Clinton Street Theater. Each day there are three showings of different movies and Friday features its own special program of movies most suitable for the raucous Friday crowd.

Buy an unlimited entry festival pass and see them all!

No shows will sell out before doors open.

We have a limited number of ADVANCE tickets available for sale online and more tickets are for sale at the door. We recommend you come at least a half hour prior to showtime to ensure you get a ticket. If you are trying to get tickets for the 7:00 or 9:00 shows on Friday night, we recommend you come at 5:30 when the box office opens and tickets go on sale. Those popular shows will sell out quickly.

9:40 – Mike Vogel from Front Ave films presents on “How to Make a Zero Budget Movie”.
10:20 – Dan Kaufman of Crank my Chain will present on “The Worst Movie I Ever Made”.

What makes a great Filmed by Bike movie? Find out by watching our collection of ‘B’ movies from the festival archives at The Best of the Worst (what not to do) on November 6th at The Art Department (1315 SE 9th, at Madison). The event features a bar and food, filmmaker talks, the unveiling of our new trailer, jury nominations and much more.

VOLUNTEERS GET IN FREE

Volunteering is a fun way to be involved with this event – to see the behind the scenes action and help make it happen.  We need volunteers for the following roles:
Set up 6:30-8:00 PM (free entry)
Beer servers 7:30-11:30 PM *OLCC CARD REQUIRED ** (free entry + DVD)
Door assistants 7:30-10:15 PM (free entry)
Breakdown Crue 10:30-midnight (free entry, DVD, beer)

FRIDAY: Come to the New Belgium Opening Night Street Party and head inside for the movies if you’re so inclined. Bring your friends and great ready for an incredible FREE party in the street with DJ Anjali + Incredible Kid plus other outstanding entertainment.

SATURDAY: Relax and recover or head to one of the screenings. We suggest you make it to the 7pm for the Golden Helmet Award Presentation with Nutcase Helmets.

SUNDAY: Catch some early evening movies with filmmaker Q+As at the 5pm screenings, or catch the later night screenings to round out your weekend.

It was good to have them in town. I watched the shorts program last night. The highlight for me was Balorda, a piece about this amazing fun ride that happens every year in Italy. “We don’t have energy bar, only pork! We don’t drink Gatorade, only wine!” I’m heading to Italy to ride Balorda! I mean, I’ve been on a fun ride or two in my day, but all through this movie I kept thinking, “DAMN they’re having fun!”. So we’re working to bring Balorda to FBB2009.

We wish we had a photo of the BFF and FBB hanging out togther. They’re doing amazing work to bring their festival around the worl. Brendt just finished six months of travel. I asked him how it went. He said he’s tired.

We had a great time, even if we had trouble breathing because there were so many people there. We estimate about 1,500 people attended and the hall was packed at 5:00, a half hour before the event was scheduled to open. And it stayed packed until 8pm, and full until 9:30.

We had a great time sharing our booth with our neighbor-friend Nikki who lives down the street from the Filmed by Bike headquarters. I was so distracted by all the people stopping by to say hi that I forgot to many pictures. Here are a few on our slideshow. You can find more from BikePortland on their slideshow.
