We’re looking for an enthusiastic Festival and Partnerships Assistant to join our team for the 2023 season.

About This Role
The Festival and Partnerships Assistant is responsible for many of the logistics required to run an excellent film festival. This position is also responsible for forming partnerships with businesses and other entities that will play a role in the festival.

Hours + Commitment
Part Time: An average of 10-50 hours a month with a flexible work schedule.
The Festival and Partnerships Assistant is responsible for maintaining their own hours. Hours increase significantly in January during Partnerships Season and then again in April and May as the festival weekend approaches.
The Festival and Partnerships Assistant will work with limited oversight, in a self-driven fashion. Support is always available.
Work for this position will begin immediately upon hiring.
Compensation
$20/hour with a minimum compensation of $200 a month for potential light work months.
Generous 40% commission on sponsorship sales once the threshold is met.
Staff perks include free entry to the festival, world wide networking opportunities, film and bike industry introductions, an opportunity to work closely with a wide variety of local businesses, learning on the job and the opportunity to work with filmmakers.

Our BIPOC Filmmaker Grant Fund is our own program to celebrate untold and underrepresented people in the bicycle culture and their bicycle stories. We provide funding for emerging BIPOC Filmmakers to support at least two new films every year.
Work Environment
We support a work-from-anywhere lifestyle. Some remote work is possible. However, from now through the festival there are many in-person activities that cannot be accomplished remotely.
We are an extremely positive, supportive work team. We work hard in an efficient manner and are fully dedicated to supporting each other to have a good work-life balance while producing a world class festival we can be proud of.
We work from home and have regularly scheduled staff meetings. We all work extremely independently with very little oversight, though support is always available when there are questions or roadblocks.

- Excellent at general office tasks, file management, organizing emails, taking in new information, clarifying details
- Ability to set project priorities and ask questions to stay on track
- Ability to balance Filmed by Bike workload with other life commitments
- Ability to manage cash and credit
- Comfortable learning to set up box office work stations, connect devices, log in, etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot of online platforms if necessary – such as our ticketing system
Knowledge Base + Experience

Preferred Skills
- Creative, eager to brainstorm new ideas for the festival
- Desire to hone your skills by contributing to Filmed by Bike
- Excellent correspondence etiquette.
- A knack for sales, finalizing a deal, etc.
Securing Sponsorships + Partnerships – 40% of your workload
- This percentage is a rough approximation that will vary by person and by year
- Meet or exceed the revenue generating requirement of this position: $5,000
- Find new sponsors for 2023
- Identify aspects of the festival that are sponsorable and pursue sponsorship
- Collaborate with sponsors and partners in creative ways
- Seek out partners who can help our festival grow, reach a new audience or provide benefit to our ticket buyers
- Coordinate our program of on-stage guest speakers
- Oversee all aspects of the Festival Raffle
Ticketing + Box Office Management – 30%
- This percentage is a rough approximation that will vary by person and by year
- Oversee all aspects of Box Office Management during the festival and associated events
- Oversee all aspects of customer service related to ticket sales (our customer service volume is extremely low)
- Supervise a team of volunteers
- Manage money and devices
- Back end admin access to our ticketing platform, and remote use of this platform when managing the box office at our events
Festival Passholder Program – 10%
- Develop our program of perks and benefits for our Festival Passholder Program
- Assembly and fulfillment of Festival Passes
Additional Projects as Needed – 20%
- Opportunities to share your skills, wisdom and talents
- Appearance opportunities as a representative of the event
- Festival related projects
- Unknown related and tangentially related projects that may arise
